Gary Rowett Ready for Potential Departure ofBialkowski

Bartosz Bialkowski has been a crucial performer for Millwall since making the switch from Ipswich Town on a loan deal. However, there is a strong likelihood that the goalkeeper could return back to his parent club in January. Manager Gary Rowett has claimed that the club do not have an alternate plan as of yet, but he has admitted that Millwall need to be ready. A troublesome knee has preventedBialkowski from making the switch to Millwall permanent. He came close to sealing a £ 900,000 move to the Den only in the summer. The fan favourite has been able to go from strength to strength ever since making the switch to Millwall – albeit on a temporary basis.

Neil Harris was able to extract the best performances from this goalkeeper, but he has been even better since Gary Rowett took over. Ipswich are looking to sell the goalkeeper on a permanent basis so that it would free up funds for new arrivals. However, Millwall are in a spot of bother since the club do not have any option to convert the loan deal into a permanent deal. Furthermore, the London outfit do not have any agreement about receiving the first option. So far, it has been a mediocre campaign for Millwall with the team struggling in the bottom half of the table.

“I’ve spoken to the club about one or two things but I don’t know the precise details of the agreement. He’s a player that has done really well for us so far, he’s made some really important saves. The aim moving forward would be that he doesn’t have to make quite so many important saves. That would be our ideal plan, defensively. But I think as in any position you plan for the worst-case scenario which is making sure you have options in the building but also making sure you have options in the recruitment market,” said Rowett.
